It’s safe to say that sports betting is popular in the Land of Lincoln based on the second set of revenue numbers released by Illinois & rsquo.

Illinois posted a $139.8 million handle in August, up from $51.4 million in July.

BetRivers Illinois, which was the only casino permitted to accept online bets for the entire month, made a staggering$ 117.7 million in August.

Let & rsquo, let’s go over all the important numbers and put them in their proper contexts based on a strange month in the Prairie State.

BetRivers Dominates Illinois Sports Betting August Revenue Report 2

Illinois manage numbers, according to casino

By the end of August, there were a total of seven sportsbooks in Illinois. Just three — BetRivers, DraftKings and FanDuel — took online wagers at that point.

Just financial copies of the other four books were sold. Here are the figures.

Sportsbook Handle
BetRivers $ 117.7 billion
DraftKings $ 14 million
FanDuel $ 4. 2 million
Sportsbook( retail-only ) at Argosy Casino Alton $ 2. 7 million
William Hill( exclusively retail ) $585,097
Sportsbook at the Joliet Casino in Hollywood( store only ) $325,598
Sportsbook at Aurora Casino in Hollywood( financial only ) $167,060

There is a lot of noise in these statistics, so let’s try to reduce them.

Although it was a successful quarter for BetRivers, its top position is hardly shocking.

In-person membership was necessary for the first 21 weeks of August. For the majority of June and July, BetRivers was able to electronically register people.

DraftKings launched online on Aug. 5, but users could only register by visiting DraftKings at Casino Queen in East St. Louis until Aug. 21

FanDuel Sportsbook, meanwhile, didn’t go live until Aug. 28, so its August numbers account for fourdays of handle.

Also, BetRivers put on a fantastic performance.

Even with those limitations, the figures still stand out for BetRivers.

In August, it recorded approximately$ 3.8 million in manage per day. When it was made available online, DraftKings recorded around$ 1.3 million per day as a comparison.

In the final four days of August, FanDuel posted about$ 1 million per day in handle.

In September, DraftKings, FanDuel, PointsBet, and William Hill should fill that void. However, a lot of floor needs to be covered.

September will provide an intriguing case study of how Illinois’ & ldquo, sticky & rndquo sports betting customers behave.

In terms of user registration, BetRivers had a major head start, and August was amazing. The Illinois sector is still very young, but it was more stable in September than in August.

As 94 % of stakes were placed online in August, it was more or less the same.

Additionally, that was in a setting where in-person membership was necessary for the majority of the month. Predictably, during the COVID-19 & nbsp pandemic, the majority of customers chose to use BetRivers on their mobile devices rather than visiting a casino.

Sportsbooks made$ 7.2 million in revenue, which is a 5.2 % hold.

Illinois may experience a massive September.

Illinois only had one prominent sportsbook for most of August, yet it posted a higher handle than sports betting in Colorado.

In August, Colorado, which has a number of sports gambling applications, recorded an$ 118.6 million control.

Illinois is also hot on Indiana & rsquo’s heels. The Hoosier State‘s business is much more developed than the Illinois business, and it posted a$ 169 million control in August.

Also anticipate significant events in September.

Football is the most famous sports to wager on, and both the NFL and college sports have their seasons officially begun.

Additionally, DraftKings and FanDuel had a full month to register new virtual bettors, and they did so with generous amounts of commercial money.

PointsBet and William Hill sportsbooks also launched in mid-September. PointsBet has been aggressive in acquiring customers since launch, becoming the official betting partner of the Chicago Bears and offering numerous no-brainer Bears promotions.

Marcus Fruchter, the administrator of the Illinois Gaming Board( IGB ), stated that 230, 000 sports betting accounts had been established in the middle of September.

On October 17, smart registration may come to an end, but Illinois has already seized that opportunity.
