Global Poker games and tournaments

Whether you’re an experienced or recreational player, you will likely be able to find a table with stakes that will suit you in one of Global Poker’s ring games or tournaments.

The site maintains a steady flow of traffic throughout the night and day, and although lower limit entries are more common, you can find higher stakes. No Limit Texas Hold’em multi-table tournaments are the most popular by far, you can find the following on a limited basis:

On one midweek afternoon, more than 2,000 players were either actively participating in Hold’em ring games and multi-table (MTT) and sit-and-go (SNG) tournaments or were registered for tournaments that were slated to start within the hour. MTT entry fees were fairly evenly distributed and ranged from 0.55-22 Sweeps Coins.

Omaha had a decent following, as well, with about 150 players seated in ring games for SNGs, all for predominantly lower stakes. Three MTTs were on the schedule for that evening, with another set for Sunday.

Crazy Pineapple‘s only slot on the schedule was an MTT set for later in the evening.

Global Poker draws a wide spectrum of players. The site’s large Facebook following tends to draw a significant number of recreational players who are either completely new to the game or novices, at best. On the flip side, since there aren’t many legal online poker sites in the US, many highly skilled players are drawn to Global, as well.

If you don’t have the time for an MTT, Global offers plenty of SNGs and Jackpot SNGs tournaments. SNGs are usually six- or nine-player, turbo, or hyper-turbo tournaments that rarely last longer than an hour.

Jackpot SNGs tournaments are three-player hyper-turbo Hold’em games with a randomly determined prize pool anywhere from two to 10,000 times your entry fee. Entries range from a minimum of 100 Gold Coins and 0.5 Sweeps Coins on up to a maximum of 50,000 Gold Coins and 20 Sweeps Coins. You can play in up to four Jackpot SNGs at one time.

Jackpot SNGs are winner-takes-all unless your table draws the jackpot, in which case the prize pool will be split between first (75%), second (15%) and third (10%) place players. This means that if your table draws the jackpot prize pool with 20 Sweeps Coins entry, you will be playing for a share of 200,000 Sweeps Coins or 5M Gold Coins.

Bounty tournaments use Hold’em rules except you get a prize (bounty) for each player you eliminate. Typically, the entry is split between the overall prize and bounty pools. By the time the final table is reached, it’s possible to have bounties larger than prize payouts.
