Your Guide To In-Person Registration: The Process At Each Illinois Retail Sportsbook Is Different

Beginning on Saturday, March 5, 2022, it is no longer necessary to register for an authorized online sportsbook in Illinois. You can now simply use your phone or computer to create an Illinois sports betting account.

Earlier this month, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker brought back the in-person registration rule for online sportsbook accounts, causing confusion among Illinois residents on what steps to take next.

Here at Play Illinois, we have found that the registration process differs for each of the six online sportsbooks in Illinois. While you can download a sportsbook app and create an account from anywhere, you must visit one of the sportsbooks’ retail partner locations in Illinois to validate your account before you can start betting.

The procedures for evaluating your new online sportsbooks account in Illinois will differ based on the financial casino location you choose to visit.

To finalize your betting account, simply stop by the FanDuel Sportsbook and Horse Racing in Collinsville. Please note that while FanDuel operates a retail sportsbook at the casino, it is not available for use at the Par-A-Dice Casino in East Peoria. This is due to FanDuel transferring its smart license to the racecourse.

To expedite the in-person registration process, it is recommended to download the FanDuel app and create an account ahead of time, even if you are not able to use it right away.

The procedure can be located in various places and is outlined as follows:

You need to leave and check your casino account at the cashier’s desk.
You are required to present your visitor card, email address, or account information.
After reviewing your account, the supervisor will verify your ID and authorize the account.
FanDuel will enhance its special enjoyment by an additional $100.
The supervisor might ask you to log out and then log back in to confirm that the bill has been verified.
FanDuel requires you to sign a log as evidence for an in-person verification.
