Bears At Falcons Odds, Betting Preview: Not Much Respect For Chicago Despite 2-0 Start

The Bears are set to face off against the Falcons, who have yet to secure a win, in Atlanta this Sunday. Here are all the details you need to know from an NFL betting perspective about the Week 3 matchup between the Bears and Falcons.

First, let’s examine the odds at all five online sportsbooks in Illinois.

BetRivers DraftKings FanDuel PointsBet John Hill
Buccaneers TB – 3.5, 44.5″ – 3.5, 44.5″ – 3.5, 44 – 3.5, 44.5″ – 3.5, 44.5″
Animals CHI + 3.5, 44. 5 + 3.5, 44 + 3.5, 44 + 3.5, 44. 5 + 3.5, 44. 5

Despite the odds shown above, the Bears are currently undefeated with a 2-0 record, while the Falcons are winless with a 0-2 record.

When it first opened, Atlanta was unanimously favored by 3 points. However, early funding for the Falcons must have increased the total to 3.5%.

Bears & rsquo, there may be rivalry.

The Bears triumphed over the Lions, who had a 0-2 record, and the Giants, but their performance was not particularly impressive.

A dropped touchdown pass by D’Andre Swift was required to scrape a win in Detroit, while Chicago did not manage to cover the 5.5-point spread in their victory over New York, who were without Saquon Barkley for the majority of the game.

Despite losing the second half 13 – 0, the Bears, who held a 17-0 lead at halftime, managed to hold on.

Thus, although the Chicago Bears can win this game, the line is logical.

Mitchell Trubisky’s performance hasn’t been strong enough to instill confidence in him as the long-term solution for Chicago. However, his play has improved to the extent that we don’t hear much about Nick Foles anymore. Trubisky has achieved a passer rating of 92.7 for the year, with five touchdowns and two interceptions.

Trubisky has been performing better than anticipated, considering that at least one of those selections was probably due to Allen Robinson’s error.

He will have another successful game this weekend. Over the past two months, the Falcons have been ranked 31st in the NFL, allowing 476.5 yards per game.

Despite having a 39-30 lead with just 2:52 remaining and a 99.9% win probability, they still managed to lose to the Cowboys with a final score of 40-39.

In Atlanta, an astounding 372 passing yards are allowed per event. Indeed, the Falcons have gone up against two of football’s premier quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott.

However, a great matchup is formed by Trubisky and the average Bears act.

On act, Falcons are frightening.

Despite having a 0 – 2 record, the Falcons’ offense is not to blame.

Atlanta ranks second in points per game and third in overall yards.

Over the course of two games, Matt Ryan has been exceptional, achieving 723 yards on eight attempts.

He will confront a Bears defense that has been inconsistent for the past two weeks. Those who had hoped that the device might look more like the 2018 model rather than the 2019 one were disappointed.

If Kenny Golladay had not missed the game and Swift hadn’t dropped the score, the Bears would have allowed Matthew Stafford and the Lions to score 30 points during the last moments of Week 1.

They performed better in Week 2 by taking out the Giants in the first quarter. However, they allowed 13 unanswered points in the following quarter as Daniel Jones proved to be a strong adversary.

Danny Trevathan, the linebacker, has been struggling with pass coverage, but not in the beneficial way that a 2020 social media teaser might imply. The Bears had to employ three safeties on Sunday to hide his difficulties, a tactic that probably won’t ensure consistent success. Trevathan was a critical component of the Bears’ formidable defense in 2018.

The front seven have been merely satisfactory without Eddie Goldman, despite the secondary potentially being the best the Falcons have encountered. Robert Quinn initiated a fumble in his first outing as a Bear last month, and it’s possible that Khalil Mack’s pass rush may have been the game changer.

Chicago ranks 14th in the league with five sacks across two sports. Although this isn’t a poor performance, it’s not the level of output you’d expect from a leading team featuring players like Mack, Quinn, and Akiem Hicks.

Head coach Dan Quinn stated that Kaleb McGary, the Falcons’ right tackle, won’t be playing in Week 3. Therefore, the Bears have the opportunity and should continuously apply pressure on Ryan.

Animals are in excellent health.

The health of the Bears is one of their greatest strengths, particularly when considering the damage we saw in Week 2.

Despite their limited exercise plans for the following month, both Quinn and Mack participated in the game. Furthermore, Chicago emerged from the conflict with New York without any substantial damage.

Apart from McGary, the Falcons are dealing with a defense marred by injuries. However, further updates on the condition of Kendall Sheffield, Charles Harris, Marlon Davidson, and Ricardo Allen will be available later in the week.
