Today marks a historic occasion in the Prairie State as BetRivers Illinois Sportsbook in Des Plaines will accept the first legal sports wager in the state.

The text from The Rivers Casino will be the exclusive authentic platform for betting in the Land of Lincoln on Monday, but this exclusivity may be short-lived. Despite the impressive schedule, residents of Illinois should take note of certain considerations.

How to find out more about the casino BetRivers in Illinois

Betting is set to commence for business today at noon. Prior to this, a ceremony is planned at the blackjack, slated for 10 a.m. this morning.

Corey Wise, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Rivers Casino, stated, “The BetRivers Sportsbook will shift March Madness from the office pool to an exciting and enhanced live sports wagering experience.” He further expressed appreciation for the Illinois Gaming Board staff’s efforts in ensuring their sportsbook’s approval in time for the college basketball tournament, which he described as one of the most thrilling sporting events of the year.

“Whether you’re a seasoned sportsbook player or a casual sports fan intrigued by this new entertainment option, we are dedicated to creating an environment where all customers can enjoy themselves at this superb location within our prestigious casino,” says Greg Carlin, CEO and co-founder of Rush Street Gaming, Rivers, the parent company.

It’s important to highlight that this launch will only be applicable to physical sportsbooks. However, this shouldn’t necessarily mean a long delay in placing your bet.

The game will feature 30 sports betting kiosks scattered throughout, along with five gambling windows. The visual appeal will undoubtedly attract you to the casino section.

Within a sports club that spans 4,840 square feet, the casino features a 47-feet wide ultra-HD LED video wall. Besides this massive video wall, the club is also equipped with four 75-inch screens dispersed in different areas, as well as 10 additional 86-inch viewing screens.

The lounge features 29 set chairs and a full-service table accommodating up to 32 people. Additional furniture options are available, including 26 bar-top video poker games.

Rivers was among the first three facilities to be granted sports betting licenses. So far, it’s the only one that has announced when it will commence operations. The remaining two are likely to follow suit soon.

When does Illinois become home to another sportsbooks?

The Argosy in Alton and the Grand Victoria in Elgin are the other two establishments that have already received their certificates. These two games could potentially introduce financial books immediately.

They are probably just waiting for the final approval from the Illinois Gaming Bureau and the completion of preparations. Once that’s done, they will announce the opening hours.

It is currently unknown when the first online casinos were launched in Illinois. Although Rivers has not provided a specific timeline, they have indicated their intention to introduce that component later this year.

For now, legal betting in Illinois is expected to be confined to retail establishments. Regardless of the situation, it’s important to note that any lawful bet is allowed.

Today, the state experienced a traditional day. All gamblers who travel to Des Plaines are able to engage in that history.
