Rivers Casino History

Rivers Casino was established in 2011 by Midwest Gaming and Entertainment and a group of investors with Neil Bluhm at the helm. It later became known as the Rush Street Gaming company.

The Illinois Gaming Board awarded its 10th and last license to Rivers Casino Des Plaines in 2008, and the casino opened its doors to the public on July 18, 2011. The casino is placed on top of a few inches of water to comply with the riverboat casino gaming state law.
