A$ 1.6 billion investment has been made by Bally & rsquo, S. in a casino in Chicago.
Soo Kim, Bally’s chairman, said in a statement:

A step forward for Chicago, Lightfoot
Prospects for a game in Chicago appeared dark as late as August.
The city had to extend the RFP deadline to Octoberreportedly due to a lack of bidders. Outside of Rush Street Gaming, there wasn’t any interest.
MGM Resorts, Wynn Resorts and Caesars Entertainment passed on the project. The Chicago casino will have an effective 40% tax rate, and some wondered whether that would require a legislative fix.
Chicago, however, is in a prime location with five bids from renowned game companies.
Lightfoot said over the summer that “there are no hometown favorites,” a nod to Rush Street’s Chicago headquarters.
For a while, it appeared that the area might not have any other options. Then it does.
Illinois game bids are present in Chicago
To varying degrees, Rush Street, Bally & rsquo, and Hard Rock have all left their mark on the state.
Rush Street jointly owns Rivers Casino in Des Plaines with Churchill Downs. Rivers is Illinois’s most well-liked game, and locals’ ability to recognize its name may help with the bidding process.
Bally’s recently purchased what was formerly known as Jumer’s Casino & Hotel. After a rebrand, the western Illinois casino is now called Bally’s Quad Cities Casino & Hotel.
Hard Rock, meanwhile, is on the cusp of having a casino in Rockford. The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) found Hard Rock “preliminarily suitable” for a license, and it is set to open a temporary casino in November.
It goes without saying that the success of the Chicago game certificate will be well-known in the Land of Lincoln.
What’s next for the Chicago casino, What & rsquo?
Immediately, perhaps in November or December, applicants will make their plans known to the public. Chicago should choose a winning plan in 2022.
Previously, the plan was for applicants to present their ideas in September. However, with the RFP deadline pushed back, so is the rest of the timeline.
The business must submit an application to the IGB once the capital has chosen a winning proposition. We & rsquo, the IGB has been known to take years to process casino applications.
The city now intends to start the game by 2025. The timing of this method is, of course, flexible, just like everything else.
