New Chicago Casino Site List Narrowed To 5 Locations

Chicago casino site selection.

Chicago’s north and east sides may feel oppressed. Potential new game locations in Chicago have been limited to the city’s south and west sides by a list.

Lawmakers now have five prospective places in their sights. However, they are still a long way from making a decision.

Information on the new Chicago game site choice

The Chicago Tribune reported that Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot proposed five suggestions for the site, which were used to set the parameters for analysis by Union Gaming Analytics.

The five places are as follows:

  • Harborside
  • Reese Michael
  • State and Pershing
  • Kostner and Roosevelt
  • Steel from US

The study considered various factors such as the accessibility to Indiana casinos and travel options. Furthermore, it examined:

  • aid from councillors
  • Murder rates
  • family income
  • people concentration

Despite some websites having clear advantages in certain areas, identifying a definitive success can be challenging.

The five blackjack sites’ relative merits

The transportation option is won by State and Pershing due to its natural traffic flow and numerous public transportation options, thanks to its close proximity to Guaranteed Rate Field. However, the local alderman is opposed to placing the casino in her ward, which is a significant drawback.

Reese Michael is also disadvantaged by the absence of alderman support. Nevertheless, this area, which has the lowest crime rate among the five possible locations and a high population density, is still attractive.

While Harborside does hold the backing of the local alder, it also has the smallest population concentration among all five sites. Additionally, it faces competition due to its proximity to Indiana casinos.

The site closest to the city’s wealthiest areas is Kostner and Roosevelt. Additionally, it is the most distant from Indiana casinos. However, it has a significantly higher crime rate compared to the other four sites.

US steel also lacks alderman support and offers the poorest transportation options among the five. The area is not connected by the CTA “L” and even if you choose to travel by bus, some walking is inevitable.

There are also alternatives for the game available because no website checks all the boxes.

A Chicago casino’s fifth option is none of the aforementioned

The ultimate location of the casino has no connection to Lightfoot’s recommendations. The city area of Chicago still remains a possibility. It would make sense to situate the casino in the city’s most affluent area.

However, there are additional concerns. Because of its closeness to Indiana casinos and Rivers Casino, the Chicago area is currently considered the third-largest gaming market in the US.

Therefore, business absorption is a genuine concern. Gaming companies are now striving to attract gambling dollars in the area by building a new blackjack in Gary, Indiana.

The Union Gaming Analytics report is expected to provide significant insights regarding the potential success of a proposed mega-casino in Chicago. If the projections are favorable, it might encompass one of the five locations suggested by Lightfoot.
