New Chicago Casino Site List Narrowed To 5 Locations

Chicago casino site selection.

Chicago’s north and east sides may feel oppressed. Potential new game locations in Chicago have been limited to the city’s south and west sides by a list.

Five prospective places are now in the sights of lawmakers. But, those decision-makers are still far from making a decision.

Information on the new Chicago game site choice

According to the Chicago Tribune, Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot made five suggestions for the site. Those sites defined the parameters for analysis by Union Gaming Analytics.

The following five places are:

  • Harborside
  • Reese Michael
  • State and Pershing
  • Kostner and Roosevelt
  • Steel from US

The study took into account a number of factors, including the contact to Indiana casinos and travel options. Also, it looked at:

  • aid from councillors
  • Murder rates
  • family income
  • people concentration

Although some websites had distinct advantages in some areas, it can be difficult to identify a clear success.

The five blackjack sites’ relative merits

State and Pershing wins the transportation option, as its proximity to Guaranteed Rate Field creates natural traffic flow and offers many public transportation options. The drawback, however, is that the local alderman objects to the casino being placed in her ward.

The lack of alderman support is also a drawback for Reese Michael. That area boasts the lowest crime rate of the five potential locations, however, and a strong population density.

Harborside does have the support of the local alder, but it also has the lowest concentration of all five sites in terms of population. It & rsquo has competition nearby because it is also the closest location to Indiana casinos.

Kostner and Roosevelt is the site closest to the most affluent parts of the city. It’s also the furthest from Indiana casinos. It has the highest crime rate of the five by a large margin, however.

Steel from US also does not have alderman support and is the worst of the five for transportation options. There is no CTA “L” link to the area, and even by bus, some walking would be required.

Alternatives for the game are also available because none of the websites check all the bins.

A Chicago casino’s fifth option is none of the aforementioned

The final landing spot for the casino isn’t in any way related to Lightfoot & rsquo’s suggestions. Chicago’s city area is still a chance. Insofar as locating the game in the wealthiest area of the city is concerned, that would make sense.

Yet, there are other worries. The Chicago area is now regarded as the third-largest gaming market in the US due to its proximity to Indiana casinos and Rivers Casino.

Business absorption is therefore a real concern. By constructing a new blackjack in Gary, Indiana gaming companies are now attempting to engage for gambling dollars in the area.

The Union Gaming Analytics report will have a lot to say about the chances of a new mega-casino in Chicago being successful. If the forecast is positive, it could include one of the five sites proposed by Lightfoot.
