Wrigley Field will open a DraftKings Sportsbook, welcome back Coca-Cola and hopefully be home to a winning Chicago Cubs team in 2023.

The arrival of spring signifies a new season for Chicago Cubs with high expectations and new additions to the team. This also presents new betting opportunities for baseball enthusiasts who can use one of the seven legally recognized sportsbook apps in Illinois.

In recent years, the Cubs have been following a declining trend. It’s the first time since 2014 that the North Siders have consecutively finished seasons below .500.

The offseason was a busy one for team president Jed Hoyer. The Cubs’ exciting new player acquisitions are certain to bring the thrill back to Wrigley Field.

Here is your guide to attending a game at the Friendly Confines in 2023.

Illinois sportsbook at Wrigley Field is new this season

Restaurants and bars in Wrigleyville are undergoing updates and modernization. However, this season, the ballpark itself is also getting a new feature.

A new DraftKings Sportsbook is set to open soon at the intersection of Addison St and Sheffield Ave in Illinois. No official grand opening date has been announced for this new sports betting establishment. However, it is anticipated to start welcoming guests sometime in 2023.

This is a pioneering endeavor for the Cubbies and Illinois, and it will be accessible all year round, accommodating up to 1,000 guests.

Viewers of the game will also observe a host of new players on the field. The Cubs gained significant attention with the acquisition of Gold Glove SS Dansby Swanson. Other newcomers include: P Jameson Taillon, CF Cody Bellinger, 1B Eric Hosmer, DH Trey Mancini, among others.

Coca Cola is a new addition for 2023. Wrigley Field will be selling Coke products for the first time in 42 years. This change comes as the Cubs inked a new Legacy Partnership with Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling.

Best advice for getting to Wrigley Field

Since 1914, Wrigley Field has served as the home stadium for the Cubs. Fenway Park is the only MLB venue older than it.

Wrigley Field, renowned for its immense charm, is a unique professional stadium situated right in the heart of a neighborhood. With such a distinct setup, it’s hard not to be enamored by it.

However, reaching the park can be difficult. If you’re planning to drive and park in the vicinity, numerous locals are ready to sell you a slot in their alleyway parking. Just be ready to be surrounded by other cars, or spend a little more for a hassle-free exit spot.

You can also check the Wrigley Field parking page on the Cubs’ website to find Spot Hero users selling spots for specific days.

Alternatively, you can use the CTA to ensure you arrive in time for the first pitch. The best choice is the red line train, which has a stop on Addison less than a block away from the park.

In order to reduce congestion on the CTA and on the roads, the Cubs suggest cycling to the match. They offer a complimentary bike valet service which is located near the Addison red line stop. This service becomes available three hours before the game starts and remains open for an hour after the game finishes.
