Editor’s Note: As of Saturday, March 5, 2022, you no longer have to visit a retail sportsbook in Illinois to sign up for a legal online sportsbook. Instead, you can register for an Illinois sports betting account on your phone or computer.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker reinstated the in-person registration sports betting requirement on Friday, drastically changing the market landscape.

Now, Illinois residents who want to open a sports betting accounts must go to the casino, track, or off-track betting( OTB ) location in order to do so.

In the Land of Lincoln, there are already 11 financial sports betting options, including seven games, two racing, and two OTBs.

But of those 11, currently you can only register for an online sportsbook account at eight Illinois locations. Those are:

4. Club Hawthorne Crestwood, El 60445, 13148 Rivercrest Drive, is the location of PointsBet.
5. Player & rsquo, s Pub & amp, Grill, 1250 River Road, Prospect Heights, Illinois 60070 PointsBet
6. Hawthorne Race Course, 3501 Sulfur. Laramie Ave., Stickney, Illinois 60804 points bet
7. William Hill’s Casino: Grand Victoria Casino, Elgin, Al 60120, 250 Sulfur. Grove Ave.

You might have noticed that Hollywood Casino Joliet, Argosy Casino Alton, and Par-A-Dice Casino aren’t on that record.

They are only permitted to file clients at FanDuel Sportsbook & amp, Horse Racing, and Hollywood Casino Aurora, respectively, according to Barstool.

Aurora and Naperville are the second- and third-largest cities in Illinois by population, and are about 25 minutes apart.

Aurora is home to Hollywood Casino Aurora.

You may join Barstool, a partnership with Hollywood Aurora, it.

That & rsquo is unquestionably the closest choice if you’re in Aurora and Naperville. Rivers Casino, Grand Victoria Elgin, and the Hawthorne OTBs are a few additional options that are available in less than an afternoon.

Visit Indiana, Iowa to sign up and place an online activities wager.

It might be simpler for several Illinoisans to travel to Iowa or Indiana.
