Today, the group sent an approval letter to FanDuel, Par-A-Dice Casino’s licensing partner, greenlighting their request to initiate online betting. This information was confirmed by a representative from the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB). Shortly after, the FanDuel blog was up and running.

The approval is given before the official start of the NFL season, which commences on September 10.

“Sports fans in Illinois have been eagerly awaiting this day,” said Mike Raffensperger, CMO of FanDuel Group. “They will now get to experience a ground-breaking sports gambling app with top-notch campaigns and consumer protections that have helped FanDuel become the leading casino in the US. Sports are back.”

Customers of FanDuel can register electronically.

It is now the appropriate time for FanDuel to join the online sports betting industry in Illinois.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker issued an executive order last week, suspending the requirement for in-person registration until at least Sept. 19.

This implies that gamblers don’t have to go to East Peoria’s Par-A-Dice to place a bet with FanDuel. The sign-up process can be completely done on your computer or phone.

The IGB has stated that Par-A-Dice currently has no on-site membership. They might want to seek approval for the internal arrangements related to on-site membership before September 19. Until that date, membership can only be processed electronically.

Furthermore, Par-A-Dice has not yet been granted permission for on-site sports betting activities.

Six states now offer FanDuel Sportsbook electronically.

Thanks to its partnership with Boyd Gaming, FanDuel operates its online and mobile sports betting program in Illinois, making it the fifth state where it has been launched.

The FanDuel Par-A-Dice Sportsbook is available for download on iOS and Android for residents and visitors of Illinois.

FanDuel, a virtual casino based in Illinois, joins DraftKings Sportsbook and BetRivers. They are likely the only Illinois bookmakers open for the start of the NFL season.

The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) has yet to receive a request from PointsBet to begin accepting bets via their partner, Hawthorne Racetrack, in compliance with law 1100. FanDuel’s authorization, submitted on August 19, was completed in nine days. This gives PointsBet a narrow window of opportunity.
