Hawthorne, PointsBet To Launch 3 Sports Betting Sites At OTBs In Suburban Chicago
PointsBetlaunched its Illinois sports betting app last week, and its retail operations are coming soon.
Three Chicago suburban off-track betting ( OTB ) parlors will also have retail sportsbooks run by racino & rdquo at Hawthorne Race Course, PointsBet & nbsp.
They’ll get in Crestwood, Prospect Heights, and Oak Brook Terrace.
PointsBet would be the first sportsbook in Illinois to have multiple retail locations. DraftKings eventually will once its sportsbook at Wrigley Field is finalized, and others may follow.
For the time being, PointsBet is establishing itself in the Chicagoland region.
Player’s Pub & Grill is home to one OTB. Its sportsbook could launch as soon as Oct. 1, a representative told the Daily Herald.
The bar’s interior renovations, which include the development and reconstruction of wagering windows, are almost complete. The city already receives tax revenue from Player & rsquo, s Pub, and in 2016 it contributed to the funding of a 2,500-square-foot OTB addition.

The Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, which is partners with William Hill Sportsbook Illinois, is about an hour away from Chicago.
Choosing to work with a racecourse is an appealing choice.
There are two Illinois racetracks without a sports betting dance partner: Arlington International Racecourse and Fairmount Park.
FanDuel was reportedly in talks to buy Fairmount, and the two could still come to an agreement. Arlington, meanwhile, is no longer interested in pursuing sports betting. Parent company Churchill Downs Inc. already owns a 61% stake in Rivers Casino.
From the perspective of a sports betting operator & rsquo, having access to multiple OTBs should be advantageous. Particularly in Arlington, there are some alluring OTB spots( Joe & rsquo, Chicago’s Bar on Weed Street stands out). Fairmount also has a OTB. situated in the state capital of Springfield.
The sole operator in Illinois to collaborate with a track as of right now is PointsBet. And it might soon paid off.
