Written By Joe Boozell on October 21, 2020

The poker room at Harrah & rsquo’s Joliet Casino has been permanently shut down.

Due to COVID-19, most poker rooms in Illinois are closed indefinitely, however, Harrah’s has chosen to permanently shut down its operations.

On October 28, the poker room will conduct a drawing to distribute $427,800 in bad-beat prize funds. All individuals who participated in jackpot-eligible games between October 20, 2019, and March 15, 2020, will be included in this drawing.

Comments will be determined based on the total number of hours people played during that time period.

Additional information can be found on the official website of Harrah’s:

The drawing is scheduled to take place on October 28, 2020. The number of hours and minutes played during this period will determine the entries. A total of 150 winners will be selected, each receiving $2,852. Winners do not need to be present to win. All finalists will be notified via phone or email, if possible. A list of winners will also be posted below and can also be accessed at Caesars Rewards. Winners must claim their prizes by reserving a time slot for payment collection before November 30, 2020. To view all the rules and regulations, please visit Caesars Rewards.

The speech did not justify the closure.

What the Joliet poker room at Harrah & rsquo offered

Prior to the pandemic, Harrah’s Joliet poker room was open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The World Series Of Poker Room, as it was recognized, allowed players to participate in live-action Texas Hold ’em and Omaha games.

Tournaments for Deep Stack, Bounty, Mini-Deep & nbsp, and Blonties would take place on Saturdays.

The WSOP Poker League, a nine-week competition, was also hosted at Harrah & rsquo. The champion was guaranteed a main event seat in Las Vegas. The competition also offered regular awards.

Another poker rooms were permanently closed.

Before the news about Harrah’s, poker rooms were present in six out of the ten casinos in Illinois.

  • Elgin’s Grand Victoria Casino
  • Joliet Harrah’s
  • Metropolis, Harrah & rsquo
  • Aurora Hollywood Casino
  • Jumer’s Hotel Casino &
  • Hotel Game Sync a Stones

Elgin’s Grand Victoria Casino, like Harrah’s, is also a property of Caesars.

Every casino has been operational since July, but their gambling areas are indefinitely closed. Considering the high number of COVID – 19 cases in Illinois, it’s unlikely this situation will change anytime soon.

The casino areas have been closed since March.

At present, this is the situation in numerous US regions, however, some poker rooms in Indiana have resumed operations. For example, on Tuesday, the poker room at Four Winds Casino South Bend reopened.

The financial gambling sector continues to be negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
