20,000 Casino Jobs Are Coming To Illinois; Here’s Where To Find Them

New Illinois casinos will bring more than entertainment to residents of the Prairie State.

There are six casino licenses currently in various stages in Illinois. Soon, the fruits of regulatory labor will deliver thousands of employment opportunities to residents. From construction to maintaining daily operations, roughly 20,000casino-related jobs will become available, some temporary and some full-time positions.

Here are the current statuses of each brand-new game in Illinois as well as the possible number of jobs they could generate.

Employment at Hard Rock Casino in Rockford

The Opening Act, Hard Rock’s temporary casino, is open for business. However, it is only open temporarily until the permanent casino is complete in the fall of 2023. About 16,600 construction workers and 3,140 permanent casino employees will be necessary for Hard Rock’s permanent facility in Rockford.

Opening Act is 37, 000 flat foot, has 625 + slot machines and electric table games, and is home to two restaurants. The overall number of slot machines and table game hasn’t been made recognized, but the continuous game will become 65, 000 square feet. A Hard Rock Cafe, a few other unnamed bars and restaurants, and an enjoyment and music place with 1,600 seats will also be present.

Update: May 16 Hard Rock career good

Hard Rock will be meeting with potential employees to work in the day-to-day operations of the casino. Those interested need to bring either a government-issued driver’s license or state ID and an updated resume. Prior to the event, those interested must also apply online.

Money operations, food and beverage, surveillance, security, and the casino floor are some of the opening positions. Dynamic give, a comprehensive health insurance plan, tuition reimbursement, retirement benefits, and more are all available at Hard Rock.

Jobs at the Golden Nugget Casino in Danville

The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) recently deemed Danville “preliminarily suitable” for a casino license.

Last week, a groundbreaking event was hosted to signify the beginning of the construction of the gaming facility. It could take 11 months to build the casino and open its doors to guests. Danville’s casino will be 41,500-square-feet and feature a Golden Nugget Sportsbook, 500 slot machines, 14 table games and two restaurants.

Golden Nugget may employ 400 construction tasks and 850 full-time employees.

Game jobs in Waukegan

Along with Golden Nugget Danville, American Place Casino in Waukeganreceived recent approval from the IGB. FullHouseResorts hopes to open a temporary casino in July 2022 and a permanent casino within two years. Hundreds of people will be sought for the following positions:

  • Casino system technology
  • Dealers
  • workers in sales and marketing

Also, there will be 700 casino jobs and 150 food and drink service jobs to fill at the temporary Waukegan casino. When the permanent location opens its doors, there will be 1,858 jobs and 1,150 positions will be full-time with competitive pay rates and full benefits.

American Place has original ideas for the makeshift location. It will be a camp that is 75, 000 square feet. Additionally, there will be 1,000. 50 board games, a casino, food and beverage service, and slot machines.

Jobs at Walker & rsquo’s Bluff Casino

Ground brokeEarly in December, Walker & rsquo, s Bluff Casino was being built. In terms of pleasure and amenities another than wagering, it has a little more to offer than the other casinos.

1,100 employees and 330 casino employees will be hired by Walker & rsquo, Bluff. Somewhere in 2023, the casino hopes to have a spectacular starting in Williamson County.

The$ 150 million proposal included 650 slot machines, 14 table games, a casino, and 116 rooms. It also included retail spaces, an event center, hotels, pools, salons, spas.

Work at the Wind Creek Casino

The Wind Creek Casino in Homewood / East Hazel Crest received approval in December and will operate at the interchanges I-80 and I-294. Residents of South Suburban will be able to find about 800 full-time jobs.

The$ 440 million project will include 69, 190 square feet of gaming space with 1, 350 slots, 56 tables, and a sportsbook. A sky club, pubs, restaurants, and a four-diamond hotel with 252 rooms will all be available for non-betting entertainment.

Casino employment in Chicago

Chicago may one day have a casino, but not any day soon. The winner of the Chicago game certificate is still up to three candidates. Earlier this summer, the city and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot hope to select a champion. The Illinois Gaming Board would need to approve a game registration, which could take two years.

Regardless of which blackjack obtains the license, there will be a significant need for workers: somewhere between 9, 500 and 17, 000 building jobs and on 3, 000 casino jobs.
