IL sports betting revenue nov 2020

In November 2020, Illinois posted a second record-breaking sports wagering control of about$ 449.2 million, maintaining its position at the top. 4 & nbsp, a month-long spot in the US.

Only New Jersey, Nevada, and Pennsylvania were ahead of the Prairie State for the month.

IL sportsbooks earned approximately $41 million in profit in November, similar to the $42.4 million they made in October.

Approximately $6 million was the tax revenue from sports betting for the state.

Once again, DraftKings led in individual handle, receiving $166,000,000 in bets for the month.

BetRivers maintained its position at the No. 2 spot in handle. The top five was completed by FanDuel, PointsBet and William Hill.

In mid-November, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker closed all 10 of the state’s casinos, resulting in lower retail figures than usual.

Nonetheless, the suspension of the in-person registration requirement by Pritzker has greatly contributed to the continued thriving of online sports betting.

25% of the handle was comprised of college sporting events, whereas professional sports events constituted 75% of it.

A new bill, which could repeal the prohibition on betting on in-state schools, might increase the latter mark in the future.

December is set to be a remarkable month, with college basketball happening throughout all 31 days and the NBA making a comeback on Dec. 22.

Despite the current level of success Illinois is experiencing with sports betting, it feels like we’re just getting started.

Profits for November, per casino

These were the income figures for the sportsbook in November:

Sportsbook Handle
DraftKings $ 166,000,000
BetRivers $ 133,2 million
FanDuel 133.5 million dollars
PointsBet 26. 2 million
Theodore Hill $ 6. 2 million
Alton Argosy Casino( retail only ) $ 2. 4 million
Joliet at the Hollywood Casino( retail only ) $936,575
Aurora Hollywood Casino( retail only ) $780,295

What is the major takeaway? PointsBet underwent a shocking downturn after reporting a control of $60.7 million in October.

FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetRivers have all surpassed their October performances, solidifying their positions as the top three in the IL industry.

Barstool will visit Illinois when?

We expect to see that record grow in the upcoming weeks.

Play Illinois has discovered that Barstool intends to debut in Illinois ahead of March Madness, with Unibet and BetMGM Illinois currently awaiting approval. It remains uncertain if any additional sportsbooks will be ready to launch in time for Super Bowl betting.

The final two can initiate once the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) provides approval.

Currently, there are no impending launches in Illinois. However, keep an eye on Bally’s, which is expected to offer sports betting through Jumer’s Casino & Hotel in the future.

Even though Illinois has found success, the sportsbook market is not yet saturated.

Currently, in states such as Colorado, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Illinois, there are over five online options available.

Illinois sports gambling control: The$ 1 billion fee

Considering the current rate, it’s logical to start contemplating when Illinois could achieve a monthly sports betting handle of $1 billion.

New Jersey, as the US leader, set a record for the fourth consecutive month by accepting $931.6 million in bets in November.

Unless New York legalizes it very quickly, it’s only a matter of time before New Jersey reaches $1 billion.

Online sports betting has been available in New Jersey since 2018, giving it a significant advantage over Illinois. The first online casino in Illinois was not established until June when there were no significant activities happening.

The Prairie State may take a while to hit the $1 billion mark, but progress is being made. The positive trend continued in November.
