Illinois will begin a new opening period, adding capacity at casinos, and the CDC relaxes mask recommendations.

14 May 2021

Illinois appears to have greener grass and a brighter sky as it reached its final stage of reopening on May 14.

During the “bridge phase”, capacity limits in most retail environments, including casinos, increase to 60%.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced on Thursday that vaccinated individuals are exempt from capacity restrictions. For instance, a restaurant table can seat more than ten people as long as they are vaccinated.

Starting Friday, the capacity for spectator events will increase from 25% to 60%. The White Sox and Chicago Cubs will implement this change for home games starting May 24. Furthermore, Governor JB Pritzker announced during a press conference on Thursday that the Cubs and White Sox will offer exclusive seating for vaccinated fans at Wrigley and Guaranteed Rate fields.

According to Tom Swoik, director of the Illinois Casino Gaming Association, Illinois casinos have been given the go-ahead to reopen poker rooms and buffets. The final decision on when to do so will be up to each individual casino.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky confirmed on Thursday that the CDC has relaxed its mask guidelines, allowing vaccinated individuals to go without a face mask in most situations.

Those who have been vaccinated according to guidelines are free to participate in any indoor or outdoor activity of any size without the need for a mask or physical distancing.

State officials expect that the state will be completely reopened by June 11th.

Next week, Illinois will enter the & lsquo, bridge the phase, and the RSC.

Governor JB Pritzker of Illinois has announced that the state will begin the opening phase on May 14, with a full reopening scheduled for June 11. This was revealed during a recent press conference.

The “Bridge Phase” brings us one step closer to full reopening, with capacity guidelines increasing from 50% to 60%.

The state’s plan does not address casinos directly, but we should gather more information on how the bridge phase will affect casino capacity when we reach that point.

January 6th, 2021

Governor JB Pritzker offered a ray of hope as Illinois’ COVID-19 statistics displayed a small improvement.

He stated that they are working towards reopening everything as quickly as possible and are generally moving in the right direction.

In Illinois, games are seen as the second tier of alternatives, following indoor dining as the first tier. We are currently operating at the third tier.

In order to move back to Tier 2, regions must maintain an event positivity rate below 8% for an extended period of time.

As of the latest update, the statewide positivity rate is 8.4%. If we move back to Tier 2, casinos may have the opportunity to reopen at 25% capacity.

He mentioned his anticipation of seeing how the Christmas and New Year’s holidays unfold in terms of indoor dining. He expressed confidence that we will reach that point soon.

I am excited to see the numbers two months into the new year.
