Illinois will begin a new opening period, adding capacity at casinos, and the CDC relaxes mask recommendations.

14 May 2021

The grass seems greener and the sky brighter in Illinois. The state entered its final stage of reopening on May 14.

In the “bridge phase”, most retail environments, including casinos, see a rise in capacity limits to 60%.

Chicago Major Lori Lightfoot stated on Thursday that vaccinated individuals are not subjected to power restrictions. As an example, a bistro table can accommodate more than ten people provided they are immunized.

The capacity for spectator events will increase from 25% to 60% starting Friday. The White Sox and Chicago Cubs will begin this adjustment for home games beginning May 24. Additionally, Gov. JB Pritzker announced in a Thursday press conference that the Cubs and White Sox will provide exclusive seating for vaccinated fans at Wrigley and Guaranteed Rate fields.

Tom Swoik, the director of Illinois Casino Gaming Association, informed Play Illinois this week that Illinois casinos have permission to reopen poker rooms and buffets. However, the decision to do so ultimately lies with the individual casinos. So, when will poker rooms in Illinois reopen?

On Thursday, the CDC eased its mask guidelines, stating that those who are vaccinated can forgo wearing a face mask in most scenarios. This was confirmed by CDC Director Rochelle Walensky.

Anyone who has received the recommended vaccinations can participate in any indoor or outdoor activity, regardless of its size, without needing to wear a mask or practice physical distancing.

State officials anticipate that the state will be fully reopened by June 11th.

Next week, Illinois will enter the & lsquo, bridge the phase, and the RSC.

May 6, 2021

According to JB Pritzker, Gov. Illinois will initiate the opening phase on May 14 as announced at a recent press conference, with a full opening planned for June 11.

The “Bridge Phase” is just one step away from complete reopening. During this phase, most capacity guidelines would rise from 50% to 60%.

The state’s plan does not specifically mention casinos, but we should learn more about how the bridge phase impacts casino capacity once we get there.

Recently, Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced her aim to completely reopen Chicago by July 4.

Currently, Casino Queen, DraftKings, Argosy Casino Alton, Hollywood Casino Joliet, and Joliet Harrah & rsquo, s do not comply with Illinois’ Tier 2 guidelines. However, they are allowed to reopen once they meet these guidelines.

COVID-19 metrics suggest that the casinos in Joliet are likely to reopen before the Casino Queen, DraftKings, and Argosy Casino Alton in Region 4.

January 15, 2021

On Saturday, Jan. 16, at 8 a.m., Par-A-Dice Casino in East Peoria, Jumer’s Casino & Hotel, and Harrah’s Metropolis Casino reopened their doors.

Harrah’s in Joliet would also be able to reopen once Region 7 meets Tier 2 guidelines.

At present, we do not have any terminology from any other game.

January 15, 2021

On Friday, Governor JBPritzker discussed the transition from Tier 3 to Tier 2. He also mentioned the discovery of the first UK strain in Chicago. Despite this, he permitted certain areas to progress to Tier 2, which would allow some games to continue with a 25% capacity.

14 January 2021

It’s not official yet, but it appears that several casinos in Illinois could be reopening on Friday.

Pritzker states that any region meeting specific COVID-19 guidelines could move from Tier 3, Tier 2, to Tier 1, where casinos are allowed to open at 25% capacity.

At the time of writing, Par-A-Dice Casino, Hollywood Casino Joliet, Joliet Harrah’s, and Jumer’s Casino & Hotel are scheduled to reopen on Friday.

The Hollywood diva has announced the possibility of reopening on Friday, while Par-A-Dice has allegedly informed its employees to anticipate resuming work on the same day.

January 6, 2021, and nbsp

Gov. JB Pritzker provided a glimmer of hope as Illinois’ COVID-19 numbers showed slight improvement.

“He said, “We indeed aim to reopen everything as soon as we can. Generally, we are moving in the right direction.”

Games are considered the second level of workarounds in Illinois, with indoor dining being the first level. Currently, we are in the third level.

To return to Tier 2, regions may need to keep their event positivity rate under 8% for a prolonged duration.

The current statewide positivity rate stands at 8.4% as per the latest update. Casinos could potentially reopen at 25% capacity if we transition back to Tier 2.

“We are looking forward to observing how the Christmas and New Year’s holidays proceed,” he mentioned in context of indoor dining. “I am confident that we will reach there soon,” he added.

It will be thrilling to observe the figures after two months have elapsed since the beginning of the new year.
